Sustainable Textiles

Sustainability is at the heart of my textile work. I incorporate eco-conscious practices at every stage of the process, from fiber to finished piece.

Yarn Choices

I repurpose Pendleton wool blanket selvedges that would otherwise go to landfill, rolling them into “yarn” for rugs and wall pieces. Sometimes these are naturally dyed for added color.

Reusing Materials

I source donated yarn from local scrap stores, reclaim fibers from antique shops and flea markets, and even use baling twine from vintage farm supply stores—keeping materials out of the landfill and avoiding new production.

Natural Dyes

Whenever possible yarn or fabric is used in their natural colors. But she tries to use natural dyes sourced in the Pacific Northwest. One of her favorites is Oak Gall. These are collected in the Hood River area in Oregon. Oak galls once prepared and using an iron mordant give a nice grey color.

Custom Orders

If some of my work sparks your interest, please reach out to Linda directly via email.

She is open to completing artisanal textiles or paintings to fit your vision.

Through textiles and the language of warp and weft Linda challenges the assumption that cloth is purely a domestic medium.
